Height and load capacity are what separate a studio stand from a cheap one. At 14 feet with a 15 kg maximum load, this one will put a large head and a big modifier well above eye line — which is where a key light usually needs to be, and where a lighter stand becomes a hazard.
It has a spring cushioning mechanism, so a head does not slam down when a section is released; that protects both the fixture and whoever is standing under it. It folds to 3.5 feet and weighs 4 kg, so despite the working height it still travels. The universal 1/4" thread fits most monolights, continuous lights and accessories.
